![]() ![]() Perhaps able to plunder for riches, or plunder for god's favour. This makes no sense, lore-wise many trade with them, its not just raids, just like vikings irl things are complex. They shouldn't be hated by everyone until war starts, then it might be hard to get back to good graces, which forces the player to decide what enemies they want to make, and which to be friends with and trade.Ĭurrently everyone just hates their guts. Having a similar horde mechanic to amazon's in Troy could work, a lower version of Penthesilea, where specific settlements give big fat bonuses for plundering instead of settling (although you can do it), maybe make it so it cant be settled by norsca player for say, 20 turns after plundering. The overall mechanics they have kinda point in this directly but not very well implemented, the gods mechanic was decent on this as you aligned to one of them at the detriment of the others, depending on what the players tribe liked/needed most.īeing raiders, explorers, merchants should be their gameplay, able to establish outposts and mount expeditions, bringing back all the bounty to their lands. This is probably where the main differentiation should come from mechanically, they don't intend to destroy the world, they just want to thrive and survive. They are not warriors of chaos, but Warhammer Vikings that happen to follow chaos gods. ![]() They are chaos following out of fear and need. Pretty much, Norsca isn't chaos aligned directly per se. It would go from your army to Norsca to bring back the Loot and then from Norsca to your army with troops you recruited Basically, you could gather a unique ressources (let's call it Loot) that needs to go to your base to become usable (money, items, bonuses, etc.) However, to help you with that you could have a caravan-like boat that goes back and forth between your army and Norsca. I personally prefer a mechanic that uses that uses the cavaran mechanic. It could be a meter that gives you bonuses but that drains when outside of Norsca/Chaos Waste but refill when you're there. That's why I think that making it an official mechanic would be a good idea. ![]() It's already in the game in a soft form with the high global recruitment time which makes you go back to Norsca from time to time, but it feels more punitive than exciting. There's a couple different ways to do it, but I think CA could make an Expedition mechanic Basically, CA needs to double down on the Viking side of Norsca and less on the Chaos side since it's the main difference between the two of them. ![]()
